South Asian cuisine is distinctly different from the rest in Singapore but so widely embraced as the flavors are so very outstanding.
This are my go-to Indian cuisine when I have craving for Prata, Briyani or Indian Rojak.
1. Koothurar Nasi Briyani
Koothurar Nasi Briyani is located at Blk 17 Beach Road #01-4705, just opposite the Beach Road Hawker Center, and appx 800m South of Lavendar MRT (EW11).
Operating Hours:
Opens daily (excl Tue)
11am – 2pm
The queues are there even before the stall starts serving at 11am and many more merrily join the already long queue as they know Koothurar serves amongst the best Briyani in Singapore. The quality has been consistent all these many years and one key reason is the owner is right there with his staff dishing out quality affordable food every time.
2. Sin Ming Roti Prata
Sin Ming Roti Prata is located at Blk 24 #01-51 and is appx 1.2km NW of Marymount MRT (CC16).
Operating Hours:
Opens daily
7am – 6.30pm
The Thomson area is indeed blessed with several outstanding Pratas and with such competition, the stalls need to provide that extra oomph to draw in the crowds.
Sin Ming Roti Prata does just that as their Prata has the right crispiness but what makes them stand out is their definitive curries, done just right.
3. Abdhus Salam Indian Rojak
Abdhus Salam Indian Rojak is located a within Ayer Rajah Food Center at Blk 503 #01-73 and is appx 1.2km SW of Clementi MRT (EW23).
Operating Hours:
Opens daily
11am – 9.30pm
Abdhus Salam Indian Rojak sets the bar and once you have tried it, you will understand why the 3rd Generation now runs the business & the crowds still come, despite knowing the food is deeply fried & the outstanding sauce is calorie-laden.
